You’ll want to schedule your treatment at least two weeks before any special event, in order to give yourself time to heal and allow the product to settle.  To reduce bruising and swelling, avoid alcohol, aspirin and ibuprofen 2 days before your appointment.

You will have a consultation with Dr. Eller or one of our licensed aestheticians to discuss your aesthetic goals and design a customized treatment plan. If you have volume loss due to aging, or want a more contoured look, VOLUMA can help you achieve those results. You do not qualify for cosmetic injectables, like VOLUMA, if you are a female patient who is pregnant or nursing. JUVÉDERM^® VOLUMA^® XC injectable gel is FDA approved for deep injection in the cheek area to correct age-related volume loss, and for augmentation of the chin region to improve the chin profile in adults over age 21.

You and your injector will discuss your goals and design a treatment plan together. Your injector can apply a topical anesthetic to help with any possible discomfort during your injection.  Treatments are usually completed in under an hour. 

Immediately after your injections, the treated area can be red, sore and feel firm. Tylenol may be taken for discomfort as needed.  Swelling after treatment is common and can last up to 2 weeks. Ice can be applied to the area to reduce swelling and discomfort. Swelling may be more noticeable in the morning and decrease as the day progresses.  Mild bruising is common; this may be immediate or appear within the first few days following treatment.  Arnica gel is an over the counter product that can help diminish bruises.
