• Injection sites can be red and swollen immediately after injections but should resolve quickly
• As with all injections, bruising can occur and may take 1-2 weeks to disappear. Arnica gel is an over the counter product that may help diminish bruises.
• The effects of Botox are not immediate and will take 3-5 days to start working and up to 2 weeks to see the full effect. The best outcomes with Botox depend on adequate dosing. Please consider the dosing recommendations given by your Provider.
• It is normal to experience a headache after receiving Botox. If needed, you may take Tylenol for any headaches or discomfort as long as you do not have any allergies to Tylenol.

For the best results, it is recommended to follow these guidelines:

• Do NOT lie flat for 4 hours after your Botox treatment
• Avoid strenuous exercise and sweating for the remainder of the day
• Do NOT apply make-up or skin care products for 12 hours
• DO NOT take Ibuprofen, aspirin or vitamin E for 24 hours to prevent further bruising
